BagButton Tips and Hints.
What kind of Garbage Bags;
-
Everyone likes their own bag, but most like the cheap bags. Let me say this, brand name bags do not mean a quality bag. And thicker is not better. It is the seams that leak. So take your cheap thin bags and double bag.
Do not use bags that are connected together and have to be ripped apart. Ripping them apart can easily tear the seam or reduce its integrity We have had a lot of people write in suggesting their bags, for example.

-
Rite Aid clear bag 33 litres 0.75 mil thick
-
Fred Meyers clear bag 33 litres 0.90 mil thick
-
Home Depot and many other hardware stores carry 55-90 litres clear construction bag 1.00 mil thick.
-
Costco 33 litres clear Kirkland bags 0.75 mil thick.
-
There are so many difference sizes of garbage bags on the market, from 6 litres to over 100 litres, Clear, white, black, gray, and even blue in color. It’s good to use clear bags but not necessary.
We like the Costco bags; they are clear, come 200 in a box and seems to be a quality bag. But you sure can put a lot in a 55-100 litres Home Depot bag.
There are many more bags and soon we will have tried them all, we will keep you informed.
Double bagging. Remember;
-
If you wish for your vacuum packed items to last for a few seasons or so, double bag. Vacuum pack your item in a bag, remove BagButton and o-ring then tie off. Put that bag into another bag and repeat.
Trash Compactor;
-
BagButton with your garbage becomes an instant trash compactor. When using the inflate deflate pump you will use the big tip adapter on the end of the hose and shove the tip all the way into and through the BagButton's opening.

Use BagButton to Store Laundry Items While Traveling.
-
BagButtons seal in odor, moisture and are perfect to keep your dirty laundry contained while traveling. Take your BagButton and VacPac pump, Vacuum packaging is now portable for the first time ever.You'll find that by the end of your trip, the space you save by storing laundry will give you more than enough room in your travel bags to bring home all of your travel bargains and souvenirs.
Preserve Important Papers, Photos and Documents.
-
Oxygen and pollutants in the air will destroy paper over time. Moisture can do the same. To preserve your important documents, old photos and other paper valuables, place them in a plastic bag with acid free cardboard to stiffen the package, place your BagButton on, then seal. To maximize protection, store the sealed bag in a dark location, since ultraviolet light can also cause damage.
Minimize Polishing of Silver Items.
-
Air and moisture cause good silver to tarnish. Sealing your good silver in airtight, waterproof Bags will slow the tarnishing process dramatically.
Store Filled Vacuum packed Bags Inside Unused Suitcases.
-
Those empty suitcases sitting in your closet or garage are the perfect place to store seasonal clothing or bedding. Simply seal items in "plastic bags", pack them inside the luggage and return them to their usual storage location. You can be sure stored items are safe from moisture, insects, rodents, mildew, dirt, allergens and odor regardless of where you store the luggage, and the stored items take up no additional space. It's like getting an extra closet!
